I actually had a wonderful fortnight in goregous Herefordshire countryside near Ledbury - in some of the most unspoiledly rural country I've seen in the South of the UK. The livestock were Shropshire sheep and Devon cattle, both rare breeds, raised in essentially an organic system, though an uncertified one.
A wonderful bonus was the house full of animals - Ottie the Vizshla, Dot and Fly the collies, and Kelda the Labrador, and also four farm cats. Dot made a -wonderful- teaching dog, fear my sheepdog driving skills :)
